iSOCaaS Newsletter #1: Our Project Has Launched!

The first issue of the iSOCaaS newsletter is out. It marks the start of a 36-month project (December 2024 – November 2027) to strengthen European cyber resilience. iSOCaaS stands for Intelligent Security Operations Centre as a Service. The project is designing and delivering managed SOC services, enhanced with AI, for sectoral, national and cross-border needs.

The issue explains why the project matters now. Cyber threats are growing in number and sophistication. SMEs, which make up 99% of EU companies, face more and more attacks. Many organisations in essential and important sectors struggle with limited resources and with adopting directives such as NIS2, CRA and DORA. iSOCaaS answers these challenges with scalable SOC services that any organisation can use, whatever its cybersecurity maturity.

The newsletter also presents the project’s six objectives:

  • Baseline SOC capabilities.
  • AI-based enablers that go beyond the state of the art.
  • Standards-based interoperability.
  • Deployment for at least 62 pilot users over 12 months.
  • Operational validation, including cyber insurance schemes.
  • Long-term impact through dissemination.

It introduces the 8-partner consortium, which brings together expertise in cybersecurity, defence, insurance, AI development and digital governance. It also outlines the six work packages that structure the project. Finally, it looks ahead to the first Open Call and the project’s presence at Cyber EUnnovate 2025 in Athens.
