iSOCaaS at “Digital Transformation: Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence & Disaster Recovery” in Athens

On 23 April 2026, CyberSafe, a partner in the iSOCaaS consortium, attended “Digital Transformation: Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence & Disaster Recovery” at The Black Duck in central Athens. IBSCY Hellas organised the event, with sponsorship from Microsoft, GCC, Fortinet and CloudLayer8. It brought together 50 to 150 C-level professionals to explore how AI is changing both the way businesses operate and the way they defend themselves.

Key topics on the agenda

The programme featured speakers from leading technology providers:

  • Giorgos Armeniakos (Fortinet) spoke on AI in cloud security: real-time threat detection and automated response to cyberattacks.
  • Maria Ktena (Microsoft) presented Microsoft Copilot and the business benefits of adopting artificial intelligence.
  • Anastasia Michail (HappyOnline / Sleed Group) covered AI infrastructure, knowledge integration, custom agents and process automation.
  • Aristos Andreou (CloudLayer8) discussed data resilience, disaster recovery strategies, multi-site backup and data loss prevention.

The event closed with a cocktail and networking session.

Why it matters for iSOCaaS

The themes of the day closely match what iSOCaaS is building. The project is designing intelligent, managed Security Operation Centre (SOC) services for European cyber resilience, built around four core capabilities: AI orchestration and automation, cross-border incident response, shared situational awareness, and preparedness and training. The speakers stressed AI-powered detection and automated response. They also argued that business continuity and recovery have to be planned rather than improvised. Both points support the case for the SOC-as-a-Service model that iSOCaaS promotes.

During the networking session, CyberSafe introduced iSOCaaS to senior decision-makers. These are the people who shape cybersecurity investment and strategy in their organisations, which makes them a key audience for the project’s future services.

Looking ahead

Taking part in industry events like this helps the iSOCaaS consortium stay connected to the business community and understand what the market needs. It also raises awareness of the project’s results among potential adopters.
